The Bird and the Bee cerco sempre una scusa per cacciarceli dentro, e stavolta la scusa è Halloween. Andreya Triana è suadentissima, vorrei sentire altre cose sue.

Massive Attack (feat. Tunde Adebimpe) - Pray for Rain (via kekkoz)

It’s raining right now in Milan. My mood fits perfectly. It’s gonna be a sad weekend. The new MA song is very good, though.

Now black music is black music and its all good

Fiona Apple - “Shadowboxer”

One of my favourite of hers (“Tidal” was a magical lp). I have vivid memories and hidden feelings about this song. Haven’t we all?

“Once my lover, now my friend
What a cruel thing to pretend
What a cunning way to condescend
Once my lover, and now my friend
Oh, you creep up like the clouds
And you set my soul at ease
Then you let you love abound
And you bring me to my knees
Oh, its evil, babe, the way you let your
grace enrapture me
When well you know, I’d be insane
to ever let that dirty game recapture me

You made me a shadowboxer, baby
I wanna be ready for what you do
I been swinging all around me
‘Cause I don’t know when you’re
gonna make your move

Oh, your gaze is dangerous
And you fill your space so sweet
If I let you get too close
You’ll set your spell on me
So darlin’ I just wanna say
Just in case I don’t come through
I was onto every play
I just wanted you

But, oh, it’s so evil, my love, the way you’ve
no reverence to my concern
So I’ll be sure to stay weary of you, love,
to save the pain of
Once my flame and twice my burn

You made me a shadowboxer, baby
I wanna be ready for what you do
I been swinging all around me
‘Cause I don’t know when you’re
gonna make your move”

Massive Attack - “Splitting the Atom” (MP3 via InkLog, via superfuffa)

Creative Source - “You Can’t Hide Love” (1973)

Fab seventies groove!

“Love has found the time to kiss you
Can you find the time to listen?
Life found the time to bug you
Can you find the time for blessing?”

Sampled by *everyone* & Notorious B.I.G., this is the real deal. Perfect summer groove, that bassline is sick.
