Corinne Bailey Rae :: Til It Happens To You

I used to hear those violins playing our strings like a symphony

now they’ve gone away

nobody wants to face the truth

but you won’t belive what love can do

‘til it happens to you

‘til it happens to you

Corinne Bailey Rae - I Wanna Be Your Lover (Prince Cover)

From Corinne new ep! Yay!

A digital-only release, ‘The Love EP’ comes out on Monday Feb 14th and comprises some of Corinne’s favourite songs, featuring the funk of Prince’s ‘I Wanna Be Your Lover’, the guitar-heavy indie rock of Belly’s ‘Low Red Moon’, a soulful reading of the Bob Marley classic ‘Is This Love?’, a Stevie Wonder-influenced take on Paul McCartney’s ‘My Love’ and a Sly & The Family Stone-inspired live version of Doris Day’s ‘Que Sera Sera’.

My songs of 2010 (no specific order)

Corinne Bailey Rae - I’d Do It All Again

I got started to this early 2010 record with the raw emotion of this performance. I couldn’t stop listening to it in my head, the bitterweet lyrics, the lovely but broken voice, Corinne’s sadness. Haunting.

Corinne Bailey Rae - I’d Do It All Again live

It’s bigger than your pride’s worth
It’s bigger than the pain you got for all it hurts
It outruns all of the sadness

I never get tired of hearing this song. And, side note, I want the jumpsuit and eyeshadow she wears in this performance!
